A unique blend of blues, jazz, folk & gospel!
Already during their first concert in January 2015, the band captivated their audience and gained a faithful fan base. In a short amount of time, Tamales became one of the most listened and appreciated bands of the young acoustic-style generation in Poland. They quickly turned to be the audience favourites at festivals like BluesBaltica Eutin, BluesAlive, Rawa Blues, Jesień z Bluesem, Bluesroads or Jimiway Blues Festival.
After a year and a half of activity, they released their first album, which was presented in various radio broadcasts and later chosen as the album of the year (2016) by readers of Bluesonline.pl. The album consists of nine tracks neatly covering the first period of their activity. Musically, it is a blend of the Mississippi Delta and western themes from Ennio Morricone and Bessie Smith in marriage with the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Divided into two parts, the album satisfies both, purists and those looking for the music around the blues.
With engaging lyrics and unique approach to blues, jazz and gospel, they try not to get attached to any of those genres and find space in their music for many kinds of emotions.
