[nk_text]Wassim Ibrahim, was born in Damascus, Syria in 1978. In 1998 he finished his first undergraduate study in civil engineering assistant at Damascus University; working for seven years on projects throughout the country. Even as his engineering career was being launched, serious musical study was pursued; continuing the passion he had begun at only six years old; playing the recorder and the oud. Concurrent with his early engineering endeavors, Ibrahim began rigorous private study in oud performance with master teacher Fayez Zahr Aldin.

Shortly thereafter, he began the study of harmony and counterpoint with Prof. Bella Tagezieva. Committed to completing academic musical study at the highest level, Ibrahim entered the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus in 2005; graduating in 2010. Among his professors were renown Professors Serge Kopperanov (composition), Bella Tagezieva (theory),Victor Babenko (conducting) and Maestro Missak Baghboudarian; Artistic Director of the Syrian Symphony Orchestra. Ibrahim completed a Master of Music degree in composition at the Music Academy of Krakow, Poland in 2015 under the direction of Prof. Józef Rychlik. in 2019 he got his PhD in Music Composition at the Music Academy of Krakow, Poland, under supervision of Prof. Wojciech Widłak. Ibrahim was nominated to get a title as a Multicultural Ambassador of Krakow for 2019 in two categories, and he got a title as a Multicultural Ambassador of Krakow- Poland in the 2019, with the Chór w Kontakcie, in the category of non-govermental organizations and groups.[/nk_text]

[nk_text]Wssim Ibrahim, Kompozytor, śpiewa (Tenor) i gra na Lutnie. Urodził się w 1978 roku w Damaszku, w Syrii. W 2005 roku rozpoczął studia na kierunku Harmonia i Kontrapunkt, które prowadziła prof. Bella Tagezieva w High Institute of Music (Wydział Teorii i Kompozycji) w Damaszku. Studia te ukończył w 2010 roku. Do Polski przyjechał w 2013 roku i tu, w roku 2015 uzyskał stopień magistra studiów kompozytorskich na Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie, pod nadzorem prof. Józefa Rychlika. W 2019 roku uzyskał stopień doktora w dziedzinie kompozycji muzycznej na Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie (kierunek kompozytorski), współpracując z prof. Wojciechem Widłakiem. W latach 2010-2013 rozpoczął profesjonalną karierę akademicką jako nauczyciel w Higher Institute of Music w Damaszku, gdzie wykładał historię muzyki, prowadził zajęcia z harmonii i kształcenia słuchu. Był gościem wykładowym Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie, Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego, Uniwersytetu Viterbo, La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA i Wisconsin University, La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA. Profesjonalną karierę kompozytorską rozpoczął w 2002 roku od skomponowania sześciu piosenek dla dzieci, które znalazły się na płycie dedykowanej najmłodszym. Następnie jego utwory były wykonywane na wielu festiwalach, w różnych krajach i salach koncertowych na całym świecie.[/nk_text]
