Krasi\u0144skiego\u00a0there was the old\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/KornetKlub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Klub Kornet<\/b><\/a>\u00a0(venue still stands under new ownership), where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/OldMetropolitanBand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Old Metropolitan Band<\/b><\/a>\u00a0played a concert every Wednesday (or was it Thursdays?). The band also hosted jam sessions\u00a0on Fridays. The motto was <em>\u201cAmerican technology in Polish hands.\u201d<\/em> They did it like no one else and they are still going after 50 years I think, with some member changes of course. The place was loaded with people, filled with smoke and dancing on the tables was not an uncommon occurrence. We had a song with that title and the drummer decided it was a great band name and made a lot of posters without discussing it with the band. In the end I guess I was grateful because I wouldn&#8217;t have had the intestinal fortitude (balls) to come up with a name like that and it is in a fact a great name. We had an audience of about 20 people, but I&#8217;m sure they saw something that they had never seen before.[\/nk_text][nk_text]Sexy People the rock band went on to play at <strong>Burzliwy Poniedzia\u0142ek<\/strong>\u00a0translated \u201cStormy Monday\u201d on ul. Grodzka (which later became <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Tower.Krk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Tower<\/b><\/a>) and a few times <b> <\/b>at<b> Klub Klinka 35<\/b> (which later became <b>Imbir<\/b>).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>I believe we played our last gig with a support group called <b>Lack of Johnson<\/b>\u00a0and two of their band members later joined a very important project of mine. <a href=\"http:\/\/kgb.art.pl\/galeria\/37\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Klinika<\/strong><\/a> had been an important club in Krak\u00f3w&#8217;s history and I&#8217;m told that some famous acts had played there. The club itself had such a large group of regulars that it was not necessary to do too much promotion. The gigs were paid, which was always a plus. I remember that famous Polish guitarist <a href=\"https:\/\/pl.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jacek_Kr\u00f3lik\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Jacek Kr\u00f3lik<\/b><\/a> came to the club after one of our gigs and played our guitarist&#8217;s guitar and broke a string.[\/nk_text][nk_text]My band broke up after one year for reasons unknown to me. I had been impressed by his guitar playing and he with our show. We agreed to try to put together a new project. He, \u0141aba and I worked for two years on arrangements for the tunes. We wanted to emphasise creativity and some technical prowess in our music. After patiently working on the material they told me we had to find a drummer. Their friend, the drummer from <b><a href=\"https:\/\/batorski-jazzpainter.pl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Marek Batorski<\/a><\/b>&#8216;s\u00a0jazz band, eventually joined after a couple of months of auditioning various other drummers from our ad in <b>Gazeta Wyborcza<\/b> and <b>Dziennik Polski<\/b>. The CD included songs of bands with foreigners\u00a0making music in Poland, mostly from Krak\u00f3w and Pozna\u0144. He resembled David Byrne crossed with Madonna. It was quite fun. His way of communicating is &#8220;song-declamation&#8221;, while the texts show an influx of poetry, philosophy and playful stupidities. The guys warmed up the night, the trumpet and guitars set the audience on fire with murderous solos. A freshly dug up artefact, the unfinished audio of <\/span><b><i>Lie to me<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> truly belongs in the collection of the (Recent) Archeology of the Krak\u00f3w Music Scene.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was the first tune written with dynamic innovator <\/span><b>Jarek Meus<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the third guitarist of the band five years into its creation in 2004. He had replaced <\/span><b>Norbert Pajek<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/energydrinkband2007\/\"><b><i>Energy Drink<\/i><\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) who had in turn replaced <\/span><b>Krysiek \u0141ochowicz.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The song was supposed to feature in CroDad &amp; 100 Years\u2019 fourth EP along with <\/span><b><i>Whoo-Hah!<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span> <b><i>Social Eyes<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and perhaps another track from around 2009. We still play the song in our shows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I feel alone.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I feel confused.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I feel hurt.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I feel abused.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jarek has been with us since then, playing guitar and occasionally the Bouzouki (a Greek lute-like string instrument). As I said, a musical archeological artefact which makes us wonder today how it would\u2019ve sounded if recorded under different circumstances.
