“An immersive and intoxicating visual experience” (The Independent), Cornucopia debuted in New York and uses “fantasy as weapon for change” (New Yorker). In her own words, this light and sound spectacle is meant to be a world for her last two studio albums, UTOPIA and FOSSORA, which were released five years apart form each other (2017 & 2022).
With diametrically opposite themes, they bracket the passing of her mother (2018) and the outbreak of the pandemic and consequent lockdown (2020). The tour serves then as the culmination of a period marked by false dichotomies of hope and sorrow, nature and nurture, solitude and community, isolation and intimacy.
Björk understands the phantom nature of UTOPIA and replaces it with the overwhelming abundance of life and death around us, an emotional CORNUCOPIA that needs to be emptied before it fills up again. Her music digs deep and awaits to nurture anyone willing to dig it out. Listen to it now!
