A Polish singer-songwriter and guitarist with a strong blues & jazz influence
Karol is a singer and guitarist. He writes his own texts. The music he creates is a minimalist combination of blues, jazz, world music and original songs. He searches for inspiration in both, music in his native language and culturally distant sources such as African music and Indian poetry. He performs in different configurations collaborating with guest musicians. His concerts are very dynamic with a lot of engagement with the audience and full of spontaneous improvisations and even a touch of a unique sense of humour.
Karol is a laureate of many competitions and festivals in Poland. He has shared the stage with artists such as Ten Years After, Krzysztof Zalewski, Miuosh, Cree. He also a member and co-founder of the Koszau band.
Karol jest wokalistą i gitarzystą. Pisze również własne teksty. Muzyka którą tworzy to minimalistyczne połączenie Bluesa, Jazzu, Muzyki Świata oraz Piosenki Autorskiej. W swojej twórczości sięga zarówno po rodzimy język jak i odległe kulturowo inspiracje (muzyka afrykańska, poezja Indian). Występuje w różnych konfiguracjach, zapraszając do współpracy zaprzyjaźnionych muzyków. Jego koncerty są niezwykle dynamiczne, angażujące publiczność, pełne spontanicznej improwizacji i specyficznego poczucia humoru.
Karol jest laureatem wielu konkursów i festiwali w Polsce. Dzielił scenę z takimi wykonawcami jak: Ten Years After, Krzysztof Zalewski, Miuosh, Cree. Współtworzy także zespół Koszau.

Karol Ochotek Trio
The formation that he performs with most often is the Karol Ochodek Trio featuring Łukasz Bielecki on bass guitar/vocals and Jakub Bułka on drums/vocals. This particular configuration allows him more freedom and open the form of his songs to improvisation and greater arrangement possibilities. They have been performing together for years, which is visible on stage through the energy of their performances. Every concert is unique, but always caring about quality act dynamics, good contact with the audience and high standard performance.
Formacją, z którą występuję najczęściej jest moje Trio, w którego skład wchodzą Łukasz Bielecki (gitara basowa, śpiew) i Jakub Bułka (perkusja, śpiew). Taka konfiguracja pozwala mi na rozwinięcie jazzowej swobody, otwarcie formy utworów na improwizację oraz większą swobodę aranżacyjną. Z Łukaszem i Jakubem występujemy od lat, bardzo dobrze rozumiemy się na scenie i potrafimy wykorzystać niepowtarzalną energię wydarzenia. Nasz każdy koncert jest inny ale zawsze dbamy o dużą dynamikę wykonania, dobry kontakt z publicznością i wysoki poziom wykonania materiału.
There is a lot of blues and folk in my music, because that’s how I learned artistic freedom. I combine it with jazz freedom, minimalist approach, poetic attitude to words and ethnic inspirations of many cultures (including West African). I try to treat each element of the song as deeply as possible. Text is usually on top, but not always dominant.
