As 2024 draws to a close, we take a moment to reflect on a year that has been nothing short of extraordinary for Kraków Music. This year has seen the city come alive with a dazzling array of events and initiatives that showcased the power of music to inspire, unite, and transform. Kraków Music has been part of a plethora of projects ranging from intimate concert series to larger festivals, groundbreaking socio-cultural projects, to heartfelt charity concerts, and has reaffirmed its role as a promotor of artistic expression and agent of community spirit.
We’ve celebrated milestones for long-standing local bands and artists, welcomed bold new music projects, and supported emerging talents through dynamic music showcases. The year also marked significant achievements in concert photography, capturing the energy and essence of live performances and events.
In this retrospective, we’ll revisit highlights such as the Songbirds Kraków music showcase, charity events to support the treatment of children with cancer, the Pod Baobabem Festival; and shine a light on standout moments from beloved artists like CroDad & 100 Years, Non-Essential Workers and the Ibrahim Trio. Join us as we look back on a year that truly embodied the rhythm and soul of Kraków’s rich and evolving music scene and culture, one of which we are proud to be a part of.
Music at the Gates of Liberty
This past summer, Kraków’s music scene welcomed an exciting new initiative: Music at the Gates of Liberty. These outdoor concerts brought live music to the heart of the city, offering an open-air stage just outside Liberty Cafe. This series transformed warm summer evenings into unforgettable musical experiences, showcasing the incredible diversity and talent of local and international artists.
A Stage with a View: The concerts took place right at the gates of Liberty Cafe, located on Zwierzyniecka Street. With the charming backdrop of Kraków’s historic architecture, the venue created a unique ambiance that blended urban vibrancy with artistic intimacy. Passersby often found themselves drawn to the melodies, turning an ordinary stroll into a spontaneous concert experience.
Looking ahead to 2025: This year’s series was the first essay of Music at the Gates of Liberty, and it set the stage for something even bigger. In 2025, we aim to feature at least double the amount of artists, ensuring an even more diverse and exciting lineup for music lovers to enjoy. If you missed out this year, don’t worry—photos and videos from the concerts are available here on our blog and social media channels. Relive the magic and get a taste of what’s to come.

Music with a Mission: Dar Jonasza’s Charity Concerts
Kraków’s vibrant music scene has always been a source of inspiration and community, and this year, it embraced a cause that truly touched hearts. The Dar Jonasza Foundation, dedicated to supporting children battling cancer, hosted two extraordinary charity concerts that showcased the power of music to heal, unite, and inspire.
The first event, “Serenada o Wsparcie,” took place on July 9th at the Manggha Museum. Featuring an eclectic lineup of world-class musicians from diverse traditions, it offered a mesmerizing journey through global musical landscapes. The funds raised were directed toward young patients at the University Children’s Hospital in Kraków, making a tangible impact on their lives.
Building on this success, the second concert, “Letters to St. Nicholas,” was held on December 3rd at the Kraków Philharmonic. This magical evening blended world music with a holiday spirit, bringing together acclaimed soloists, a dynamic choir, and a string quintet. Once again, the spotlight was on the youngest patients, as the music resonated with hope and compassion for those in need.
At Kraków Music and IndaMusic.biz, we are proud to support initiatives like these that not only enrich our city’s cultural tapestry but also foster a sense of togetherness through meaningful acts of generosity. Let’s continue to champion music that changes lives and builds community!
Intercultural Choir: Embrace Diversity, Sing in Unity
We take pride in supporting projects that celebrate the power of music to connect and inspire. One such initiative is the Intercultural Choir: Embrace Diversity, Sing in Unity, a remarkable project that brought together individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds to share their voices and stories through song.
Under the artistic direction of Wassim Ibrahim, an acclaimed composer and oud player; and the patronage of the International Organisation for Migration, participants explored traditional melodies from various regions, blending them into a shared musical expression that transcends borders. This initiative was more than just a choir—it became a symbol of unity and understanding, fostering a space where diversity is not only embraced but celebrated.
The final event, a moving performance at the Pałac Potocki, showcased the incredible journey of the choir. Each song resonated with the harmony of collaboration and the strength found in cultural exchange, leaving the audience profoundly moved.
We believe projects like this embody the transformative power of music, building bridges and creating a stronger, more connected community here in Kraków. We look forward to supporting more such initiatives that bring people together and remind us of the universal language of music.
