Full of raw, rising and renowned musical talent, it is surprising that Kraków was long missing a music initiative consecrated to singer-songwriters. Local and international artists such as Zuza Baum, Alex Rainer, Karl Culley, Namena Lala and Luke Treble (to name a few) populate the local scene, which is also enriched by touring artists who have found a avid audience in Kraków: Steve Gunn (USA), Tobias Ben Jacob (UK), Algis Fediajevas (Lithuania).

Songbirds Kraków came to fill that void towards the end of 2018 organising concerts in Kazimierz at the cosy 2 Okna Cafe on ul. Józefa. Around ten concerts throughout 2019 and until just before the pandemic’s compulsory hiatus featured local talent such as Box Anima, Natalia Kwiatkowska, Ilembee and Ania Sama amongst others. Fast forward to the beginning of 2023 and after a couple of months of regrouping, Songbirds made a strong comeback in May and managed to squeeze 14 concerts in the course of 8 months. With a notably refreshed visual identity, a consolidated venue partnership and broad encompassing categories like folk, pop and acoustic, Songbirds reasserted itself in the Kraków music scene thanks to a rich and diverse music programme.
